Postdoc position in Ecological Modeling Yantai Institute of Coastal Zone Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Yantai, China

We are seeking 1 postdoctoral researcher in Ecological Modeling for a contract up to 2 year. Areas of interest include but are not limited to the effects of sea level rise and ocean acidification on the hypoxia, microbial nutrient cycling, and phytoplankton dynamics in the estuaries. The successful candidate will join a numerical modeling team at the Yantai Institute of Coastal Zone Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (located at a beautiful coastal city Yantai, Shandong Province, China), while he/she could visit the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Numerical Modeling group in Maryland, USA.

Work and requirements
The successful candidate will focus on the development and application of the Ecological Model (e.g., FVCOM-ICM) to answer scientific questions related to hypoxia, nutrient cycling, and phytoplankton dynamics. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Physical Oceanography, Biological Oceanography, Numerical Modeling, or related fields. Effective oral and written communication skills are required, and the successful  candidate is expected to attend academic conferences and publish papers in the peer-reviewed journals. The experience with numerical modeling and data analysis is highly preferred.

Salary and accommodation
Salary should be up to 60 k U.S. dollars/year (~420 k RMB) plus benefit and free accommodation in the faculty building of the institute.
