The Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) Ocean Acoustics Group in Bremerhaven, Germany seeks to develop spatially and temporally resolved descriptions of marine mammal distributions in the Southern Ocean and to identify the corresponding drivers and predictors. To this end, habitat models employing passive acoustic (i.e. presence only) data are to be developed under this project. To lead and implement these developments, the Ocean Acoustics Group seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar / Quantitative Spatial Ecologist / Biostatistician / Mathematician to conduct habitat-specific assessments of marine mammal species in the Southern Ocean.
