The Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) is offering a full-time, fixed-term Ecosystem Modeller position at Higher Scientific Officer grade for its PeacePlus-funded ACCLIMATISE project, until around March 2029. The post will report to a Senior Scientific Officer. Funded through the PEACEPLUS programme managed by SEUPB, the project supports peace, prosperity, and climate resilience across Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland. Under investment area 5.2, it promotes cross-border protection of marine and coastal environments, climate adaptation planning, and ecosystem resilience. Activities include marine protection climate action plans, community participation, and education programmes. Led by AFBI, ACCLIMATISE aims to develop spatial ecosystem models, monitoring tools, strategies, and action plans to support effective ecosystem-based management of the Irish Seas under a changing climate.
