Postdoctoral Researcher in Quantitative Ecology and Data Science

An interdisciplinary research team spanning Emory University, Utah State University, and the U.S. Geological Survey is seeking applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher in Quantitative Ecology and Data Science.

The successful candidate will help develop a novel modeling framework to improve mechanistic understanding of how climate change drives species range shifts and reshapes biodiversity across landscapes. The project focuses primarily on North American birds, integrating trait databases with large-scale survey or citizen science datasets, but applicants with expertise in other vertebrate or invertebrate taxa are also encouraged to apply.

The position is initially available for one year, with possible extension to a second and third year depending on performance. The anticipated start date is between July 1 and the Fall semester. The position is ideally based in person at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, although remote work may be considered for exceptional candidates.

Salary is approximately USD 62,000–65,000 per year, depending on experience, and includes full benefits.

Applications will begin to be reviewed on April 30, 2026, and will be accepted until the position is filled.
