Postdoctoral Researcher in Computational Statistics and Population Modeling

The Swedish Museum of Natural History (Stockholm, Sweden) is looking for a postdoc (2.5 years). The postdoc position focusing on computational statistics and animal population modelling, with opportunities to work at the interface of ecological modelling, Bayesian statistics, and environmental monitoring.

The project centers on estimating spatio-temporal abundance of Scandinavian large carnivores (brown bear, wolf, wolverine) using genetic monitoring data. Work involves developing Open-Population Spatial Capture-Recapture (OPSCR) models and contributing to open-source R packages (nimbleSCR).

Experience with MCMC/Bayesian methods, hierarchical models, or population analysis is particularly relevant.
