The second NECCTON online training session, entitled “Assessing marine ecosystems in a changing climate,” will take place online on October 20, 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00 CEST.
This session will introduce the NECCTON project and showcase its innovative results in marine ecosystem modelling. Through expert presentations and a live demonstration, participants will learn how NECCTON products can support practical applications for marine ecosystem monitoring and management.
The session will highlight examples related to marine protected areas, marine mammals, fisheries potential, and the impacts of climate change on large pelagic fish. It will also include a live demonstration of the NECCTON Ocean Viewer, showing how users can explore, visualize, and access the project’s marine ecosystem products.
This training session is designed for both current and prospective users of marine ecosystem and biogeochemical data, and will provide practical insights, supporting materials, and opportunities for direct interaction with experts.
